When I started working on this project, I knew I wanted to make a card in a different format and use a gift bag instead of an envelope. To make a card this big (7¾" x 4¾") I would have had to use a 12" x 12" sheet so instead, I chose to do a note card. By leaving a lot of white space (the sleeve can slide off) it gives enough room to write a sweet note to someone special.
The Sheltering Tree stamp set is perfect for any occasion because you can simply change the ink colour for the leaves to match the current season. In this cas, I wanted to use summery colours so I opted for Pear Pizzaz and Hello Honey. The bicycle reminds me of the summer Holidays (even though I haven't actually biked in years! Shame.)
I don't know if it's the summer colours, the tree, the spiral punch or simply the fact that the summer holidays are coming soon, but I feel like this project would be perfect as a teacher's gift for the end of the school year. Your kids can even help out. They will love the two-step stamping of this set!
